Romney Says He’d Pursue No Abortion Legislation As President

DES MOINES, Iowa (October 10, 2012)—Republican presidential challenger Mitt Romney told the Des Moines Register Tuesday, "There's no legislation with regards to abortion that I'm familiar with that would become part of my agenda."

Romney said he will instead use an executive order to reinstate the so-called Mexico City policy banning American foreign aid from funding abortions.

President Barack Obama's campaign, however, said the Republican challenger is not telling the truth about his position, citing a remark from a 2007 GOP debate in which he said he would "be delighted" to sign a bill banning all abortions.
