Pres. Obama ended a 22-year HIV Travel Ban that was based on "old thinking about how to stop the progression of a disease without understanding the science." Public Health experts considered the ban "archaic & discriminatory." In July 2006 the Bush adminstration said HIV-positive people could enter the U.S. for short-term or business visas without a special waiver. In July 2008, Pres. Bush, Republicans, & Democrats came together to get the ban lifted. Pres. Bush started the ball rolling to lift the HIV Travel Ban. In October 2009, Pres. Obama completed the process. The ban was considered harmful to the public health, as it encouraged people to hide and not get tested. Wow! For once, I must admit George W. Bush & Republicans did something praiseworthy!

The U.S. has been one of only about a dozen countries that bar entry to travelers based on their HIV status. What's not to understand by reading that? people with HIV can now come to our country. just in time for free health care right? ask England how well this works. they are being over run with HIV patients from other countries. (that is a FACT by the way)look it up. yes the 0 has your intrest at heart. why sure you can get health care just get in line behind the illegals and HIV patients from other countries..

Please read the article. Obama is completing what Bush started. Rather foolish to blame it on Obama.
