WASHINGTON (November 18, 2009)—U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder told senators Wednesday "failure is not an option" when in the prosecution of professed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Holder explained his decision to bring Mohammed and four other terrorism suspects from the military prison at Guantanamo Bay to federal court in Manhattan for a civilian trial.

Asked about the possibility of an acquittal, Holder said, "These are cases that have to be won."

But he said if any of the five were to be acquitted, they would not be released in the United States.

Sen. Jon Kyl challenged the wisdom of Holder's decision to bring the case to civilian courts.

Noting that Mohammed had sought to plead guilty before a military commission, the Arizona Republican drew applause when he asked: "How could he be more likely to get a conviction than that?"

Holder responded that the decision on how to prosecute the case would not be based "on the whims or the desires of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed."

More American Taxpayer Money Down the Drain. At least $75,000,000.00 and years of time, court system tied up, a stones throw from where the Twin Towers once stood, evidence gathered will not be allowed, just send him to his VIRGINS and get it over with. This Administration is a JOKE and IT'S NOT FUNNY!!!!

Eric Holder is 'wrong' on trying Terrorists as citizens in New York! Hasan(Ft.Hood should be tried by the Military, then either shot by a Firing Squad or Hung(publicly). 'NO' Life in Prison!

So Central, how do you see Hasan being tried? Eric Holder is wrong. He can't say a jury of 12 will give him the death penalty. Does he know something we don't know? Khlid is a terrorist. We are at war with terrorists. I watched yesterday when the question was asked the "terrorist" already confessed to the crime. Holder says no terrorist is going to determine how he is going to be tried? Why don't we just let the judge give him his death sentence and spare New York. This administration doesn't know what they are doing.
