WASHINGTON (February 9, 2010)--First Lady Michelle Obama said Tuesday President Barack Obama "has done a phenomenal job," but said people have a right to criticize him.

In an interview broadcast Tuesday on ABC's "Good Morning America," she said getting things accomplished in heavily politicized Washington is "a constant struggle."

She said her husband has been staying on course, "looking his critics in the eye."

Mrs. Obama said that he understands people are still suffering amid high unemployment and said, "Every day our president wakes up serious and focused and committed to pushing this stuff through. We had hoped that more progress would have been made."

Mrs. Obama said the president remains open to "the possibility of partnership" with his political foes.

Maybe a Phenomenal Year as her husband but not a Phenomenal Year as the President. Hope the next 3 years go by in a real hurry.

Dc in Central TX. Maybe in a perfect world. I don't think his all of his solutions are the "best" solutions. But you can not deny the fact that he has brought attention to the fact that this nation NEEDS HealthCare Reform. He's done a great job at bringing attention to the problem, the repubs and the dems need to get thier head out of the sand and work at creating a solution that will attack this issue.

If his "stuff" was any good, he wouldn't have to push to get it through.
