WASHINGTON (March 15, 2010)—The Federal Communications Commission will unveil a sweeping proposal Tuesday to overhaul U.S. broadband policy.
The aim is to bring affordable, high-speed Internet connections to all Americans and make access much faster for people who already have broadband, but it's not certain whether the FCC can find the funding, corporate support and legal clearance to carry out the entire scope of the plan.
Already, broadcasters oppose one key element of the proposal, which seeks to reclaim some airwaves now in the hands of TV stations and instead sell some of those frequencies to companies that deliver wireless Internet access.
And the FCC also will be trying yet again to reform a program that subsidizes telephone service in poor and rural areas.

Great. With the government involved it will cost 10 times more than it should, be less than reliable and slower than what we have now. I'm from the government and I'm here to help!
This is what we all have been waiting for! They tried it successfully in Washington, DC. Bring it on!! Includes cell phones, home phones, computers, televisions. Should get the reception free from the Satellites. From what I've read.
