WASHINGTON (March 19, 2010)—U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says the health care overhaul bill which Congress could complete this weekend should have the backing of lawmakers who want to retain current restrictions on federal financing of abortion.
The California Democrat said the legislation leaves intact the existing curbs on federal payments for the procedure.
She told reporters Friday that for lawmakers who favor restricting abortion funding and overhauling the health care system, "This is it."
Some abortion foes who voted for an earlier version of the bill are threatening to vote "no" Sunday because they say the current version's abortion restrictions are too lax.
"When we bring the bill to the floor, we will have a significant victory for the American people,” Pelosi said.

Um, I'm not aware of anyone who is "pro-abortion" - duh. But if your 12 year old daughter is raped, it's nice to know she wouldn't have to carry a child from that. And last time I checked, Minuteman, it's not the Democrats who are anti-choice.
Its not what they say that counts, its the devil in the details. I tried to read the entire bill and after 400 pages, it seemed to me that this bill is like a game of monopoly. Yes, I believe that Congress does not know the details in this bill. The President has said already, that he did not know all the details. Just like the saying goes: "its what you don't know, that can hurt you".
Nancy Pelosi is a true Demoncrat... she is totally against abortion while in plain view. BUT... if one of her family members or friends need an abortion, she will move heaven and earth to make it happen and she will use all of the powers of her elected office to cover it up. The Demoncrats will always be the party of, "Do what I say, not what I do!"
