Company Leaves Colorado From Texas Over Gun Laws

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (January 2, 2014) Magpul Industries, one of the country's largest producers of firearms magazines, is moving its headquarters to Texas because of new gun laws in Colorado, where it’s now based.

The Erie, Colo.-based company announced the move Thursday and said it’s also moving its production, distribution and shipping operations to Cheyenne, Wyo.,

The company says its corporate headquarters will likely be in north-central Texas, but an exact location hasn't been determined yet.

Last year the Democratic-led Colorado Legislature passed and Gov. John Hickenlooper signed a new law prohibiting the sale of gun magazines with more than 15 rounds.

That and other new gun restrictions also led to the recall ouster of two Democratic state senators.
