SALT LAKE CITY (September 8, 2013)--U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas will speak this week at fundraiser in Utah for U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah.
Lee’s spokesman Brian Phillips told the Deseret News the $2,000-a-head event will be held Friday.
Phillips says Cruz and Lee will meet with Utah Gov. Gary Herbert to discuss the issue of federalism and how states can work with the federal government.
Lee was an early supporter of Cruz, who was elected last year.
Among other things, the two tea party champions are trying to halt funding for the federal health care law.
Lee, in a fundraising e-mail sent Thursday, warned supporters that they're "outmatched in this fight" and urges them to contribute to make sure he's "prepared to take advantage of any opportunity" he comes across.
