Fashion Exhibit Opens At Bush Library In Dallas

DALLAS (July 18, 2014) "Oscar de la Renta: Five Decades of Style," which opens Saturday at the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum and runs through Oct. 5, features more than 60 creations that span the designer’s 50-year career.

The exhibit includes gowns worn by actresses on red carpets and those worn by former first ladies including Laura Bush, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Nancy Reagan.

Laura Bush says the exhibit was de la Renta's idea.

She said the designer asked if he could do a show at the library, and she was thrilled because she'd always envisioned "a show of clothes" there.

Among the garments on display is the wedding dress worn by former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager, along with the former first lady's turquoise mother-of-the bride dress.
