Former President Remains In Houston Hospital

HOUSTON (December 3, 2012)--Former President George H.W. Bush started the week Monday in a Houston hospital where he's spent several days for treatment of a lingering cough related to bronchitis.

Bush, 88, remained in stable Monday, George Kovacik with Methodist Hospital said.

Aides said earlier the 41st president would likely be discharged over the weekend.

Bush has been in and out of the hospital for treatment of the cough.

Bush also suffers from a form of Parkinson's disease that requires him to use a wheelchair or motorized scooter.

The ex-president and his wife, Barbara, split their time between homes in Houston and Kennebunkport, Maine.
