WASHINGTON (June 13, 2013)—U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said Thursday there is a "war on Christianity" funded by American taxpayers, as he and other Republican lawmakers considering a run for president addressed the Faith and Freedom Coalition's conference of religious conservatives.
Paul told the conference the war is being waged by "liberal elites at home and across the world."
Another possible 2016 presidential contender, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., said it's a mistake for Republicans not to speak out about Christian values.
He said human life has value, whether before or after childbirth.
