NRA Begins New Ad Campaign In Battleground States

NEW YORK (October 8, 2012)--The National Rifle Association is airing a new television ad in four battleground states that urges voters to defeat President Barack Obama.

The pro-gun-rights group is spending $1.3 million to air the ad in Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Wisconsin.

A spokesman said the group will air with ads through Elecction Day on Nov. 6.

The NRA ad suggests Mr. Obama is "attacking our Second Amendment rights" and says a vote against the Democrat would help "defend freedom."

The group has endorsed Republican Mitt Romney, even though Romney signed a ban on assault weapons as governor of Massachusetts.

Mr. Obama hasn't pushed gun control measures as president and has signed laws allowing people to carry concealed weapons in national parks and in checked bags on Amtrak trains.
