ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (July 2, 2012)—Gutting the health care law is on his to-do list, but U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says the odds are against lawmakers who want to gut the law championed by President Barack Obama.
The Kentucky Republican talked about the law on Monday to about 50 people at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown where he said it’s hard to unravel something of the magnitude of the health care law.
As a result, the odds are on the side of people who think it's a good idea.
He says it's much harder to undo something than to stop it in the first place.
The U.S. Supreme Court last week upheld the law's key mandate that individuals buy health insurance or face a penalty.
