Saturday's Family Leadership Summit in Ames was expected to draw more than 1,000 people.
Iowa's evangelical voters traditionally influence the first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses because these voters tend to be organized and participate.
The lineup of speakers includes Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, all of whom have already spent time in the politically important state.
