Top Texas Conservatives Urge Action On Immigration Reform

AUSTIN (October 28, 2013) Texas business and religious leaders were in Washington Monday to meet with the state's congressional delegation in hopes of hammering home how vital major immigration reform is to a healthy economy.

The delegation includes Bill Hammond, president of the powerful Texas Association of Business and Vice President of the Texas Federation of Republican Women Kim Chambers.

The group will be in Washington on Monday and Tuesday to stress the "economic imperative" of meaningful immigration reform.

A major federal immigration reform bill passed the U.S. Senate but has yet to be debated in the House.

The Texas delegation is part of "Americans for Reform: Immigration Reform for our Economy, Faith, and Security," a national event sponsored by leading business and conservative groups, including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
