FORT WORTH (July 9, 2009)--U.S. Rep. Kay Granger, R-Texas, was in a Washington-area hospital for treatment of dehydration Thursday evening.

Granger’s spokesman Steve Dutton said Granger was admitted Wednesday night, but is fine and will be released Friday.

He said Thursday that she plans to attend several events this weekend.

Granger is the ranking member of the House Appropriations Committee's subcommittee on state and foreign operations, but she was not on the House floor Thursday afternoon as the manager of the funding bill for fiscal year 2010, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

Dutton said Granger is disappointed to miss floor consideration of the State-Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill.

He said Granger helped craft the bipartisan bill and hopes it'll be approved.
