WASHINGTON (July 22, 2009)--The debate continues in Washington, over just how fast health care reform can and should be done.
President Barack Obama is pressing the House and Senate to get their plans done by Congress' August break, but that's meeting some resistance from both Republicans and Democrats.
Mr. Obama is expected to focus on the issue in a prime-time news conference at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The Republican who has been calling health care the president's Waterloo says it's "not personal," but he's not backing down.
South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint told NBC's "Today" show that the president is on a "spending spree" and someone needs to "put the brakes on."
The Fox network says it's skipping live coverage of the news conference, but CBS, AABC, NBC, CNN, CNBC, C-SPAN, MSNBC,PBS AND the Fox News Channel do plan to carry it.
News Corp.-owned Fox, which plans to air entertainment programming instead, also opted out of Mr. Obama's prime-time news conference last April.

President Obama may need to use the phrase,"Give me a break." Aimed at people who continue to critize him and his plans on health care. Why not listen to his solutions? In other words be swift to hear and slow to speak." As a working parent I still find it difficult to find affordable health care for my family. Think about another phrase that says,Like sands of a hour glass so are the days of our lives." My question is,"How long should a persons' life be measured until they can recieve affordable health care? The sands of time are slowly draining down the hour glass. As of now. Children as well as adults need health care while others' have died. Yet, the debate "still lives." I hope that the Republicans,Democrats, the House and Senate will listen to President Obama's plan on health care. If we be swift to hear and slow to speak. The President's plan may work for a more healthy America. Why want they give him a break?
Obama is like a kid in a candy store. He needs to take care of the backbone of America, which is the small businesses. He tossed all that money to those big corporations, and for what? They aren't helping the unemployment rate. I am finding it really hard to put President before his name. He is destroying our country.
What he said was true, he inherited this MESS. 8 years of greed and lies, that why he is The President of The United States of America.
