WASHINGTON (November 8, 2009)--The U.S. House passed a resolution late Saturday honoring the victims of the attack at Fort Hood.

House members passed the resolution 428-0 late Saturday, just minutes after passing the Democrats' health care overhaul bill.

Rep. John Carter, R-Round Rock, whose district includes the sprawling post, authored the resolution, which Rep. Chet Edwards, D-Waco, guided through the House at Carter’s request.

It expresses sorrow over the shooting spree that killed 12 soldiers and one civilian and left 29 wounded.

"The American people share the pain and grief of this tragic loss,” it says.

Republicans and Democrats working together and getting something done. Many could stand to learn from this. Good job Rep. Carter and Chet Edwards for honoring our fallen at Fort Hood.
