Health Care Bill Hikes Payroll Tax For Upper Income Earners

WASHINGTON (November 18, 2009)—The sweeping health care legislation headed for the U.S. Senate floor includes higher payroll taxes for upper income wage earners.
According to an outline of the bill, the tax is designed to extend health care coverage to the uninsured as well as lengthen the life of the trust fund that finances Medicare.
Current law sets the Medicare payroll tax at 1.45 percent of income.
Under the legislation, it would rise by half a percentage point on individual income over $200,000 a year and $250,000 for couples.
The outline did not say whether employers would also face higher taxes under the bill.

You have to understand the liberal mind set. The only way a conservative can become rich is by being corrupt, lying, cheating, stealing, and sticking it to the working class. So they get elected by claiming they are going to tax the rich and that any type of tax cut is to benefit the wealthy. It doesnt matter that the top 50% of the U.S. pay over 85% of all the income taxes collected. Also, what poor man ever gave someone else a job? The poor dont create jobs...unless you work for a govt. agency.

I'm with you Minuteman, and our Government needs a complete overhaul with term limits, NO MORE INDEPENDANTLY WEALTHY CAREER POLITICIANS, like Byrd from Virginia,who has been there since the end of WWII, or Ted Kennedy,who was there since the 60's, the list goes on and on. Put some Hard Working, Down to Earth, REAL People, in there, that know what the Average American People go through to have LIFE, LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of HAPPINESS. Vote in 2010 to COMPLETELY OVERHAUL THE GOVERNMENT.

So, what happens when the higher income earners finally have their fill of being over-taxed and they just give up??? Lets say they all decide to quit their jobs, or quit investing money, whatever is giving them an "upper income" status. Who will Obama tax then? If we are going to be a Socialist country the way Obama wants, why should anyone strive to be successful, only to see their income distributed to the people who don't want to work??? The hard workers of our country should ALL go on strike and give Obama this ultimatum: "Resign your position now, or the economy collapses for good." All workers should stay at home and not spend ANY money until Obama the wanna-be dictator is gone for good. Remember, the government will bail all of us out with welfare and free health care!
