HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (November 21, 2009)--Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, says he enjoyed reading Sarah Palin's new memoir and says the tension between his campaign aides and hers during the 2008 presidential race was no big deal.

In an interview with The Associated Press on the sidelines of the Halifax International Security Forum, McCain called political campaigns the "most tense situation" he's found "outside of combat."

In "Going Rogue," Palin confirms reports of discord between her aides and those of McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate.

The former vice presidential candidate says that she had wanted to deliver her own concession speach on election night, but was denied the chance.

Palin says she was kept "bottled up" from reporters during the campaign.

McCain, who emerges unscathed in the book, says Palin is a dear friend.
