AUSTIN (January 21, 2010)--Former President George H. W. Bush is expected to endorse Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, Friday in Houston in her bid to unseat Gov. Rick Perry.
Her campaign has scheduled a press event with Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush Friday morning at the former president's Houston home.
It would be Hutchison's second big-name endorsement this week, after former U.S. Secretary of State James Baker announced his support for Hutchison on Tuesday.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney also has endorsed Hutchison.
Hutchison is challenging Gov. Rick Perry in the March 2 Republican primary.

To someone near here: Texas state law now allows you to carry a concealed firearm in your car if you are 1. going somewhere. that somewhere can be anywhere. 2. you are legally able to be there. 3. you are not a member of a gang. 4. you are not doing anything illegal. 5. you are legally able to own a firearm in the first place. The "going on a trip out of county" rule is no longer in place as it was routinely used and mis-used by judges at their discretion. Now there are State laws that must be followed, statewide, without county interpretation.
KWTX finally got the Article right! George H.W. Bush, not George W. Bush!! And according to the Texas Gun Law A person has the right to carry a gun in their possession to and from their home to/from their vehicle, on their own property(and in their vehicle 'hidden'[not-in-plain-sight], but 'not' on 'any' School/College campus, or any Collegiate Game or any Meeting on Campus. Which Medina did Illegally at NTSU-Denton.
Seems to me the real big fight for the past two- three years has been brewing in washington where republican leadership and tenure is needed much more than running against a fellow republican doing a reasonably good job. KBH is just another politico trying to be the center of attention. Seriously what is she bringing to Texas? We need a Texas representative in Washington and not Washington representative in Texas. Cannot think of one landmark thing she did as a Senator????
