SAN MARCOS (February 1, 2010)--Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, T-Texas, said Monday a Republican gubernatorial runoff is possible and urged her supporters to recruit nontraditional GOP primary voters for the March 2 election.

Hutchison said Monday it doesn't appear that she or Gov. Rick Perry has the backing right now of a majority of Republican voters, which she says could lead to a runoff in April.

GOP activist Debra Medina is also in the race and could prove to be the spoiler.

Hutchison, addressing the Texas Farm Bureau, urged group members to find five or 10 people to vote in March who might vote Republican in a November general election, but typically don’t vote in GOP primaries.

She said she doesn't feel she has to have those voters to beat Perry, but said she wants all the help she can get.

I don't think so. I think Debra Medina has a good chance of being the GOP candidate. Perry and Hutchinson both seem to be missing the point and are too busy trying to justify past mistakes. Fire the bums.
