NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 7, 2010)—Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin told the Tea Party convention Saturday in Nashville, Tenn. that, "America is ready for another revolution."
The 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate delivered the key note address at the convention, offering the group a pep talk filled with folksy jokes, while lambasting President Barack Obama's policies.
Noting Democrats' recent electoral losses, she asked, "How's that hope-y, change-y stuff workin' out for you?"
She spoke of broad conservative principles like lower taxes and a strong national defense, but offered few concrete policy ideas.
Palin told those who had paid at least $349 to attend the for-profit event, "This movement is about the people" and she urged the group to remain leaderless and cautioned against allowing the movement to be defined by any one person.
