WASHINGTON (March 13, 2010)—President Barack Obama is looking toward a rewrite of the sweeping Bush era education law known as No Child Left Behind.

Mr. Obama said Saturday in his weekly radio and Internet address that he wants to reward schools that show "real progress," and encourage change in schools that are "letting their students down."

He said it's time to prepare students for life after high school and put better teachers at the front of the classroom.

The 2001 education law focused on accountability in the classroom, but has fallen short of its original goals.
