WASHINGTON (March 14, 2010)--House Republican leader John Boehner said Sunday the GOP has a shot at recapturing the House majority it lost to Democrats in 2006.

The Ohio lawmaker says winning back the House this November will be "a steep climb, but it's doable."

Democrats hold a 253-178 advantage in the House, with four vacancies.

Boehner said the GOP expects to be outspent, but he said
Republicans have more and better candidates this year and the party is in good position to help candidates.

He said he welcomes the entry of conservative tea party movement candidates in primaries.

The "more competition the better," he said.

Boehner spoke on CNN's "State of the Union."

Hey Betty, I am not poorly educated and I am a Republican. Their stance on most issues matches my own. No one remembers now what Hillary did during the demo primaries leading up to the election. Both sides have been guilty of "flaming the seeds of fear". If you dont trust the GOP, there is a simple answer....fact check. Every liberal politician that I see on TV, is always short on facts and long on opinion and hyperbole. Like Reagan said, "it is not that our liberal friends are lying...they just know so much that isnt true." (or words to that affect)

Hi, Betty. I appreciate your comments, but I have to disagree. This is the first time I've heard anyone blame Hillary for the current view of Obama. It is my hope that people could look past his color altogether. A man should be judged by his actions and not his color. Color can have both a negative and positive effect on judging an individual. A negative view of color can tear a man down while a positive one can build him up when neither are merited. I think most people (including myself) are upset with Obama & congress because of their actions in the last year. The parties are polarized & accomplishing very little for a country who really needs them to. We are tired of health care coming before jobs (over 1/4 of his term). The Dem's need the GOP & the GOP needs the Dem's. They don't won't to admit it, but nothing will get better until they do. Their bickering is costing us all. Neither are demons, but neither are angels either. We Americans need to get it together.

Barack Obama winning the Presidency in this country, was one of the most remarkable events in this countries 400 year history. For the first time, people used their minds to look past color, to elect this man on the basis of his character and abilities- I believe whats upsetting the masses, is not so much the man himself, or his color- I believe the anger and bitterness stems from what Hilliary Clinton done, during her campaign for president. Hilliary launched some very divisive attacks on Obama and created a division amongst this population, that still to this day, is wrecking havoc. This is why I lost respect for her, because she attacked this man for her own gain, creating division amongst the people. The Gop capitalized on this division and used it to create fear politics- Against Obama. "Angry Radio" is further flaming the seeds of fear amongst the people- I don't trust the GOP- because they will say anything to regain power. (they take advantage of the poorly educated.)
