WASHINGTON (March 16, 2010)--A new poll finds that about 10 percent of those contacted are considering opting out of the 2010 census, which is an improvement from an earlier survey.

The Pew Research Center poll shows that about 1 in 10 people either see the Census as offering little benefit or they're concerned that it might intrude on their life.

A similar poll in January found 1 in 5 were thinking about not mailing back their census form.

The new poll indicates that young adults remain apathetic about the decennial count.

More than 120 million census forms should begin arriving at American homes this week.

The information gathered will be used to determine everything from the number of House seats a state will retain to the distribution of more than $400 billion in federal aid.
