WASHINGTON (March 17, 2010)--Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, said Wednesday he will support President Barack Obama's health care overhaul bill when the U.S. House considers it.
Kucinich opposed the bill when the House voted on it last year, but since then he has been lobbied hard by the president himself, as Democratic leaders try to corral the 216 House votes they need to approve the nearly $1 trillion package.
Kucinich’s decision is important because the vote will be close, and Democrats are scrounging for all the support they can get.
All Republicans are expected to oppose the legislation.
Some Democrats who voted for an earlier version in November believe the new bill lacks sufficient curbs on federal financing of abortions and are expected to vote "no."

before you know it obama is going to get what he wants just because he is black. I am tired of this imbecule ramming stuff down our throats. I WILL KEEP MY MONEY,GUNS AND STICK TO MY RELIGION. EVERYONE ELSE CAN HAVE HIS HOPE AND CHANGE
I'd be interested to know what Obama promised him as well. It must be one of those closed door 'transparent' (but not really at all) deals.
the who, Kucinich is just now coming around. Didnt you know he voted against the senate bill because of the absence of the public option. He stated in an interview just a few days ago that he thought the bill was a big sell out to the insurance companies (it is), and he would oppose any bill that didnt include a public option. Not sure what Obama promissed him that made him change his mind. Id be very interested to know.
