WASHINGTON (March 19, 2010)--House Democrats meet with
President Barack Obama at the White House Saturday on the eve of a crucial vote on the president’s health care overhaul bill.

White House officials said Friday that the House Democratic caucus will visit 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. at 3 p.m. CDT.

House lawmakers plan to vote Sunday on the sweeping health care legislation.

Democratic leaders say they will have the votes to pass the bill, despite united Republican opposition, but Mr. Obama wants to make one last push for the president's top domestic priority that has been debated for more than a year.

Speaking at a campaign-style rally at George Mason University in suburban Virginia Friday, Mr. Obama described the stakes of this weekend's health care vote in stark terms, saying if the vote fails, "the insurance industry will continue to run amok."

Mr. Obama said the bill, if it becomes law, will deliver "the toughest insurance reforms in history" and "the largest middle class tax cut for health care in history."
