WASHINGTON (March 30, 2010)--President Barack Obama said in an interview broadcast Tuesday that he believes the Tea Party is built around a "core group" of people who question whether he is a U.S. citizen and believe he is a socialist, but beyond that, Mr. Obama told NBC he recognizes the movement involves "folks who have legitimate concerns" about the national debt and whether the government is taking on too many difficult issues simultaneously.
In the interview broadcast Tuesday on NBC's "Today" show, Mr. Obama said he feels "there's still going to be a group at their core that question my legitimacy," but he said he didn't want to paint Tea Party activists "in broad brushes" and he hopes to win over members who have "mainstream, legitimate concerns."

I hate to defend Steve, but he is partially correct. If you are born in another country, but your parents are American you are an American citizen. Having one parent an American citizen does not automatically make you an American citizen however. Steve is wrong on one point....MOST Americans do not care what race he is. I know I dont. I didnt like Clinton or Carter either.

So, I have to produce an actual birth certificate to get a passport. I also have to produce my Separation from the Army papers to get a government job. So, how come the "commander in chief" doesn't have to produce an actual birth certificate to prove he is a natural born U.S. citizen? Instead, we get the B.S. answer that all who question this constitutional requirement are racists. Why doesn't Barach H Obama produce an actual birth certificate with details as John McCain did?
