Feds To Monitor Early Voting In Two Texas Counties

AUSTIN (October 19, 2012)--The U.S. Justice Department says it will monitor portions of the early voting period for the Nov. 6 general election in both Dallas and Harris counties to ensure compliance with the Voting Rights Act.

The Justice Department said Friday its personnel will monitor polling place activities in the two counties.

The department deploys hundreds of observers every year to monitor elections across the country.

Early voting begins Monday across Texas.
