(February 19, 2008)--Tickets given away for free for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's rally Tuesday night in Houston were being offered for up to $200 on a popular online classified ads site.

The campaign distributed about 20,000 free tickets for the 8 p.m. rally held at the Toyta Center arena.

The arena, home to the NBA Houston Rockets, can seat up to 19,000 people.

With tickets no longer available, some people posted advertisements on Craigslist.com saying they would be willing to pay from $50 to $75 for tickets.

One ad offered to sell an extra ticket for $200.

Some found the whole process crass.

"I am happy to donate $75 to the Obama campaign to purchase this, but I will not subsidize the greed of people who are selling them for their personal profit," according to another ad on the
Web site.

Yes I know what you mean. I felt the same way about Bush when I voted for him. Just had to ride out the storm. Not only did I vote once for him, but twice. Wow! What was I thinking?

Can you not read???? They were free tickets before scalpers started selling them! Fools one and all. Blaming Obama for what now? All the while supporting Palin who makes loads of cash so big, she won't even divuldge how much she gets. Minion, you want to know how the idiots feel now...just ask yourself. Joe, who did you vote for? The " keep rolling down the gutter of economic hell" party? This article clearly states the tickets were free. There are no donations, there is no money grabbing, except by scalpers. You folks will take any chance to take a shot at a guy who is at least trying. Why? Because you can't admit that the folks you back were FAR worse for OUR country. That's right, found out you don't own it during the last election didn't you? Found out that reason conquers your unfounded fear. Found out that we were watching while the last Prez drove us to the brink. And now you blame the new guy? Funny, funny stuff you guys. I bet you think Bush would have sucked the oil up to.
