Sparks Fly In Democratic Gubernatorial Race
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Farouk Shami is crying foul about ads run by his opponent, former Houston Mayor Bill White.

McALLEN (February 5, 2010)--Hair-care magnate Farouk Shami, who’s running for the Texas Democratic gubernatorial nomination, says ads by his opponent take a backhanded swipe at his ethnic roots.
Shami, a Houston businessman who was born a Palestinian outside Jerusalem, says former Houston Mayor Bill White makes a "racist" remark by talking about being born in San Antonio.
Shami made the comment at an event in McAllen Thursday night, during his second stop in the Rio Grande Valley after an earlier event in Brownsville.
A spokeswoman for the White campaign called Shami's comment "ridiculous."

I am sick and tired of the "RACE CARD" being thrown down whenever someone (read a liberal) thinks it will do them some good! I was born in Texas City, TX. Now I guess Shami will say I'm racist. I personally believe, and the stories written about the people who claim the race card proves, that ANYONE who claims someone else is a racist is the REAL RACIST. Let's face it, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, and now Shami have all claimed that someone is a racist when no one said anything remotely racist! Obama and his "stupid cops", Jesse Jackson and his "poor poor little gangsters" in Louisiana, Al Sharpton and his "Tawana Brauley rape" scandal, and now Shami "Bill White's birth town naming". It's all reverse racism claptrap. I will not vote for Shami or White. White failed as Houston's mayor, Shami is a net Chinese product IMPORTER. Shami has minimum wage warehouse workers and he expects people to APPLAUD him for that? Then make him Texas' GOVERNOR? No way, no how! He's liberal.

Bill White will be the next governor of Texas. Out with Perry. Bailey Hutchinson just talks about whatever is an issue that particular day. Bill White is the best candidate.
