AUSTIN (March 20, 2010)--Democrat candidate for governor Bill White made almost $660,000 in adjusted gross income last year, according to his 2009 income tax returns, which his campaign released Friday after days of pressure from Republican Gov. Rick Perry's campaign.

White is trying to unseat Perry in the November election.

White said he would release his tax returns for each year he is running for or holding statewide office just as Perry has.

Perry has been in a statewide office since 1991, and has released his returns since then.

White owed $178,986 in taxes for last year.

He wrote off $9,125 in charitable contributions.

White also has released personal financial disclosures for each of the six years he served as Houston mayor.
