| From Rusty Garrett: ** A Heat Advisory is in effect for the following counties in Central Texas until 7 pm Friday: McLennan, Williamson, and San Saba ** Triple digit afternoon heat will prevail across the News 10 viewing area through at the weekend. The Nat'l. Weather Service has issued Heat Advisories for some of our counties, including McLennan. The reason that other counties were not included is that morning temperatures in those counties will not meet heat advisory criteria, although the afternoon heat index values will exceed the criteria. Don't let the technical criteria fool you, it will feel extremely uncomfortable everywhere during the afternoons. Anyone working or playing outdoors should drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade whenever possible. |
