Slight Rain Chance Sunday, Warm Weather Continues

From Sean Bellafiore:

The weather is changing as we head into the rest of the weekend. Winds will increase out of the south overnight tonight, drawing up a more humid air mass into Central Texas. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected by the morning with morning temperatures only dropping into the lower and middle 50s. Partly cloudy skies remain for much of the afternoon Valentine's Day. Despite the clouds, strong winds will help to drive temperatures back into the lower and middle 70s. A stray shower or two may pop up during the afternoon with slightly higher rain chances returning Sunday night.

A weak storm system will begin to develop in Texas overnight Sunday into Monday. As this system develops, a few showers may form along a cold front as it moves through Central Texas. Rain chances remain near 30% through Monday morning. The highest chance of rain exists near and east of I-35. If any rain does fall, rainfall accumulation will stay below a quarter inch, not cutting into the nearly 3 inches year-to-date rainfall deficit.

Although a cold front moves through Monday morning, temperatures will still remain in the upper 60s and lower 70s, nearly 10° above average. High pressure will move into Central Texas for the middle of the upcoming work week sending temperatures back into the middle and upper 70s. Outside of the chance of rain overnight Sunday into Monday, no rain is in the forecast through the end of the upcoming work week.
