KWTX - Closings

Severe Weather Closing Registration

KWTX-TV uses an automated system for school delays and closings due to weather emergencies. This system allows each school district to enter information specific to its situation using the internet. Only schools, colleges and major businesses will be displayed on television. All registered organizations are displayed on this page below.

To access the system, your organization must be registered with KWTX-TV. Once the form is received, your organization will be issued a user id and password to access the system via the internet.

Storm Chances Increasing Into Mid-Week

From Ben Walnick:

The next 7 days look hot! The "coolest" high temperature will likely still be in the upper 80s and most areas will see at least one day in the mid 90s. Mornings will be warm too with lows mainly in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Storm chances increase dramatically starting Monday, especially West of I-35. Supercell storms likely will form late in the afternoon West of our area and slowly move into Central Texas. If storms form, all modes of severe weather will be possible, including tornadoes.

Tuesday could will be another severe weather day, but the tornado threat will be lower. More widespread rain is also likely. Storms Tuesday into Wednesday AM should take nearly all the energy out of the atmosphere and drier conditions are expected into next weekend.
