Severe Weather Closing Registration

KWTX-TV uses an automated system for school delays and closings due to weather emergencies. This system allows each school district to enter information specific to its situation using the internet. Only schools, colleges and major businesses will be displayed on television. All registered organizations are displayed on this page below.

Please be aware, this automated system purges all entries at 10am each day Central Time. If you have posted a delay or closing occuring after 10am or wish to post such an event, it must be posted (or re-posted) after 10am.

To access the system, your organization must be registered with KWTX-TV. Once the form is received, your organization will be issued a user id and password to access the system via the internet.

Sunny & Nice Tuesday!

From Rusty Garrett:

This "Earth Day" 2014 turned into a beautiful afternoon on our small portion of the planet, with highs reaching into the 80s area wide.

Shifting overnight winds to the southeast will keep the lows by dawn Wednesday in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds for the afternoon will increase 10-20 with an occasional gust from 25-30mph. A warm and breezy afternoon with highs in the middle 80s.

The dry line will set off scattered thunderstorms over West Texas during the day, and while they will likely support a severe weather risk, they would likely be in a diminishing state by the time they approached Central Texas Wednesday evening.

We could see a few additional showers on Thursday, and once again on Sunday and Monday. We could use the rain, as we are currently over 6" below normal for the year!
