Severe Weather Closing Registration

KWTX-TV uses an automated system for school delays and closings due to weather emergencies. This system allows each school district to enter information specific to its situation using the internet. Only schools, colleges and major businesses will be displayed on television. All registered organizations are displayed on this page below.

Please be aware, this automated system purges all entries at 10am each day Central Time. If you have posted a delay or closing occuring after 10am or wish to post such an event, it must be posted (or re-posted) after 10am.

To access the system, your organization must be registered with KWTX-TV. Once the form is received, your organization will be issued a user id and password to access the system via the internet.

Chilly Winds Overnight...Light Snow Friday!

From Rusty Garrett:

Cold, northerly winds maintain uncomfortable wind chills in the 20s through morning Friday. Dawn readings will be in the upper 20s to low 30s.

The arrival of another disturbance in the upper flow will produce light snow over portions of North and Central Texas during the day Friday with highs only climbing into the mid 30s. Accumulations are NOT expected to be too disruptive, but grassy areas and elevated road surfaces could be affected in a minor way.

Temperatures are expected to climb very slightly Saturday morning, transitioning the precip into a pattern of freezing drizzle and freezing rain. As readings rise to near 40 Saturday, the precip will transition over to a cold rain.

Warmer air and several disturbances will maintain scattered rain in our area well into the new week!
