KWTX - Closings

Severe Weather Closing Registration

KWTX-TV uses an automated system for school delays and closings due to weather emergencies. This system allows each school district to enter information specific to its situation using the internet. Only schools, colleges and major businesses will be displayed on television. All registered organizations are displayed on this page below.

To access the system, your organization must be registered with KWTX-TV. Once the form is received, your organization will be issued a user id and password to access the system via the internet.

Summer Ridge Settles In!

From Ben Walnick:

A weather pattern shift is underway that will keep Central Texas dry and hot. High pressure is settling in, and rain chances are about zero.

Expect highs in the mid 90s and lows in the 70s every day until further notice. The only good news I can bring is that humidity values may be a tad lower than the past few days, but heat index values will still approach 100 each day.

Long term computer models do not show much relief in sight, especially as far as rainfall is concerned. Significant rain looks unlikely into the first week of July! Hopefully this will change!
