Severe Weather Closing Registration

KWTX-TV uses an automated system for school delays and closings due to weather emergencies. This system allows each school district to enter information specific to its situation using the internet. Only schools, colleges and major businesses will be displayed on television. All registered organizations are displayed on this page below.

Please be aware, this automated system purges all entries at 10am each day Central Time. If you have posted a delay or closing occuring after 10am or wish to post such an event, it must be posted (or re-posted) after 10am.

To access the system, your organization must be registered with KWTX-TV. Once the form is received, your organization will be issued a user id and password to access the system via the internet.

Winter Weather Advisory!

From Rusty Garrett:

Tuesday's fog put a real crimp in the warming for many areas of Central Texas. Readings overnight will once again remain steady or slowly rise into the middle 50s.

Those morning temps will likely, for many spots, be the warmest of the day as a strong cold front arrives early. Winds shift to the north and increase at 15-25mph with temperatures falling into the 30s by afternoon!

The trickiest part of the outlook is determining the precip types once the cold air deepens over our area. There will be an increasing chance for freezing rain and sleet by evening causing hazards on area bridges and overpasses and less-traveled roads. Travel should be limited if possible through at least noon Thursday when readings climb above freezing!
