Severe Weather Closing Registration

KWTX-TV uses an automated system for school delays and closings due to weather emergencies. This system allows each school district to enter information specific to its situation using the internet. Only schools, colleges and major businesses will be displayed on television. All registered organizations are displayed on this page below.

To access the system, your organization must be registered with KWTX-TV. Once the form is received, your organization will be issued a user id and password to access the system via the internet.

If you have forgotten your organization password, please submit a new Closings Registration Form. If you have an urgent closing, and cannot access your school administration, send an email to from an official organization email address, and we will enter the closing manually as soon as possible.

Icy Threats Late Tonight & Thursday!

From Rusty Garrett:

Fog, mist and light rain was a concern again this Wednesday across Central Texas. For the morning and afternoon hours, readings remained ABOVE freezing, even in the wake of increasing north winds behind a mid-morning frontal passage.

As we move deeper into the night, the transition from rain to freezing rain and sleet will increase. A WINTER STORM WARNING remains valid through noon Thursday for ice accumulations of up to a quarter of an inch on elevated road surfaces along with trees and power lines. Accumulations of sleet up to one-half inch are likely especially after midnight.

Thursday morning travel will be hazardous and extreme caution should be exercised. Conditions will eventually improve by Thursday afternoon when readings are expected to rise into the mid 30s.

Friday, the gradual warm-up will begin and temperatures will be in the 60s by the early part of next week!
