Sean Bellafiore is the weekday meteorologist at KWTX, who joined the station in November of 2015.
Sean lived in New York during his childhood, quickly gaining a passion for weather after experiencing thunderstorms, cold weather, and blizzards. His passion for meteorology continued to grow after moving to Florida and being struck by Hurricane Frances within two weeks of moving. The active weather pattern in Florida helped push Sean to pursue a career in Meteorology.
Sean went to college at the University of Florida, working for a 24/7 News, Weather, Sports station while completing his undergraduate degree in Gainesville. During that time, Sean covered hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, and even some winter weather. Sean graduated from UF in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunication and a Meteorology and Climatology Certificate. Sean is currently enrolled in a Meteorology Master’s Program at Mississippi State University and should earn his Master’s Degree in 2017.
During his free time, Sean enjoys watching Netflix, playing video games on his computer, storm chasing, and travelling. When not at home cooking, you’ll usually find Sean enjoying lunch or dinner at many Central Texas staples. Sean’s always looking for suggestions on new restaurants to try and different things to do in Central Texas. You can reach him by email or through social media websites like Twitter and Facebook.
Sean is excited about being a part of The Weather Authority and looks forward to telling you the daily weather story, and passing along potentially life-saving information when severe weather strikes.
