Sam DeLeon came to KWTX in October of 2015 and is currently in the National Guard.
Sam joined the Army when he was 21 in September of 2000. He spent 12 years as a 94E radio repair man for the army. In that time he deployed three times to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. He was stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia and Ft. Hood, Texas.
After 12 years he changed over to a 46R Public Affairs Broadcast Specialist. The army trained him to be a broadcaster and videographer.
He was stationed at U.S. Army Garrison, Yongsan, in Seoul, Korea for 2 years working at the American Forces Network-Pacific. Sam left the Army after 15 years of service and began working for KWTX in October of 2015. He is currently in the National Guard.
Sam graduated from Central Texas College with an Associate’s degree in general studies.
He was born and raised in Universal City, Texas just north of San Antonio, Texas and currently resides in Killeen with his wife of 15 years and 2 teenage sons.
