The deadly Valentine’s Day shooting rampage at a high school in Parkland, Fla., has renewed the debate over guns, gun laws and school violence.
Seventeen students died after a teenage gunman opened fire on the afternoon of Feb. 14 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High in Parkland, Fla.
Twelve were killed inside the building, two died at a hospital and three others were found dead outside the building.
At least 14 others were injured.
In the weeks that followed, following the lead of survivors of the deadly rampage, students here and across the country have staged school walkouts and demonstrations to protest gun violence and to call for reform of the nation’s gun laws.
The student protests reignited the debate over gun control, which remains a polarizing issue.
