The Camouflaged Sisters bring attention to issues facing women veterans

The Camouflaged Sisters were invited to participate in a Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. earlier this year.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) Tuesday, June 12 marks Women Veterans Day and Central Texas groups are making sure women who have served are honored.

They're also making sure issues and challenges facing women veterans are addressed.

The Camouflaged Sisters and the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association held several activities starting over the weekend to commemorate the day.

Tuesday, members of both groups with be at the Texas State Capitol in Austin to for a Women Veterans Day ceremony.

The Camouflaged Sisters organization has also produced books titled "Camouflaged Sisters" and "Behind the Rank," sharing the true stories of women who have served.
