TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Veterans at the Temple Veteran’s hospital were treated to a performance from the group Re-creation.

The group travels all over the U.S. giving veterans free shows to help raise their spirits.

Re-creation was started in 1976 at Pennsylvania State University.

Now the group has more than 300 shows a year at VA medical centers in all 50 states.

It's an inter-active show that features songs from different decades and patriotic themes.

One veteran says shows like this really helps morale.

“Well it just lifts our spirits and lets us know that people care” said Army veteran Wesley Whitehead.

The group performs at 1:30 Tuesday at the Waco VA.
