SPICEWOOD, Texas (AP) A 17-year-old Marble Falls High School student is among the three people who died in a two-vehicle crash in Central Texas that left three others seriously injured.

Maribel Enriquez was driving east Saturday in the 26000 block of State Highway 71 near Spicewood when she lost control of her Ford Mustang on the wet road, authorities said.

The car veered across several lanes and into the path of a Mercedes Benz.

Enriquez was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Enriquez, who would have been a senior this fall, was a talented soccer player, the district said in a tweet.

The tweet said her brother was the passenger who was seriously injured in the crash.

He was transported in critical condition.

The two people riding in the Mercedes, Preben Hammer, 71 and Alice Hammer, 68, both of Austin, died in the crash.

The driver of the Mercedes was transported in critical condition.

Another passenger in the Mercedes was also injured.
