Bond set at $1 million for woman charged in deadly local hit-and-run

HARKER HEIGHTS, Texas (KWTX) Bond is set at $1 million for a woman charged in connection with a hit-and-run in November in Harker Heights that left a man dead.

Sherry McCluer, 60, surrendered to Harker Heights police Thursday evening after a warrant was issued charging accident involving death.

She was transferred to the Bell County Jail early Friday.

Mario M. Tobar, 46, of Harker Heights died just before 7:45 p.m. Nov. 5 at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights after he was struck by a Honda Element as he walked across South Amy Lane at the intersection with Dean Earnhardt Drive.

The driver of the Honda didn’t stop.
