WACO, Texas (KWTX) Authorities Monday identified a man whose body was found in a vehicle in the Brazos River as Victor Hugo Gonzales Flores, 38, of Waco.
First responders found the 2009 Kia Rio Saturday morning after a jogger noticed damage to a railing near University Parks and Webster Avenue and called police.
The Waco fire Department used sonar equipment and discovered a car went under water.
The car was eventually pulled from about 12 feet of water and Flores was found dead inside.
An autopsy was ordered.
Police believe the car was speeding east on Webster, crashed through the metal railing. went over the riverwalk and into the water.
A Morgan's Point dive team also assisted.
