BELL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) Christmas has come a little bit early for some foster kids in bell county.
Foster love Bell County is hosting their second "Christmas in July" fundraiser to raise money for children who need a forever home.
The nonprofit organization has set up different Christmas trees at churches and businesses throughout Bell County.
Each tree has ornaments with information about how to make a tax deductible contribution to the organization.
The funds will go towards helping the children with the things they need throughout the year.
The organization also wants to focus on children who are aging out of care and help them in transitional living.
Mike Lockett is a part of the board for foster love Bell County and says he is proud to see so many people in bell county step up for these children.
"We have many kids that we work with that we are able to get into permanent homes, but not all of them,” Lockett said.
“The ones that stay in the foster care system are the ones that we're really responsible to raise and parent. And so we need programs like this to help take care of them."
Lockett hopes that the children in foster care know that people do care about them and that help is coming.
